Before the cursor arrives, every point is undecided — both and neither. The observer collapses it: toward calm or toward turning. Withdraw, and the field forgets, returning to suspension.

Three arrangements

Positive condition
A value fits X. The observer's collapse resolves it blue — and the resolution persists, briefly, after the gaze moves on.
turning
Negative condition
A value never fits Y. The collapse resolves it orange — a definite exclusion, held until forgotten.
